Leaders, Not Labels is an empowering educational workshop that is created to enhance teams of educators, business people, or individual leaders. In the 21st century diversity is literally changing the face of our nation. People of all backgrounds are merging into American classrooms and the global marketplace. Success is, now more than ever, based on results, performance, and excellence. New opportunities abound for all people and businesses, creating an environment where we celebrate diversity and where we should not have to deny our own culture to play a key role in personal and business success. By maintaining our own identities, while respecting the uniqueness of others, we can become true leaders to ourselves, our students, our employees and to society.

In these powerful workshops or through individual coaching we will discuss topics such as: Developing Leaders rather than accepting Labels.  Understanding Cultural Differences. Labels to Avoid. Changing my Personal Label to “Leader”. Managing in a way the Helps Others move from Label to Leader.  Educating Leaders, not Labels.

Culturally Responsive Teaching is Empowering

Culturally responsive teaching enables students to be better human beings and more successful learners.  Empowerment can be described as academic competence, self-efficacy, and initiative.  Students must believe they can succeed in learning tasks and have motivation to persevere. Teachers must demonstrate ambitious and appropriate expectations and exhibit support for students in their efforts toward academic achievement.  This can be done through attribution retraining, providing resources and personal assistance, modeling positive self-efficacy beliefs, and celebrating individual and collective accomplishments (Gay, 2000).
